“Armat” Engineering Laboratory Established In Kashatagh Region

The secondary school in the Vurgavan village of Kashatagh region has opened the “Armat” (Root) engineering laboratory, which is free-of-charge.

The Union of Information Technology Enterprises reports that the students of the laboratory are schoolchildren from Vurgavan and the nearby settlements. With a 3D printer, computers and items for robot construction, the schoolchildren receive a modern engineering education and acquire skills in programming and robot construction.

There are “Armat” Engineering Laboratories in 194 schools of the Republic of Armenia (including in Artsakh). There are already about 5,000 schoolchildren studying at the laboratories. These engineering club/laboratories received the Sustainable Development and Best Supplier of Technological Education awards in 2016.

The students of “Armat” Engineering Laboratories also participate in several events (Summer Technology Camp and DigiCamp Innovation Camp, DigiCode Junior Programming Competition, Mine Seeking Robots and Drone competitions, Open Game competition, etc.) where they apply their skills and become engaged in a wider and more creative environment.

The “Armat” Laboratory of the secondary school in the Vurgavan village of Kashatagh region was established through funding provided by “Hayrenaser” (Patriot) organization and the Union of Information Technology Enterprises (UITE). The UITE has invested all proceeds from a fundraiser held during the DigiTech exhibition and the entrance fees at the New Year’s event organized by UITE member organizations.
