On Sunday, May 2nd, the faithful of St. Garabed Armenian Church of the Desert were delighted to welcome and receive the blessings of His Eminence Archbishop Hovnan Derderian, who was the day’s celebrant and homilist. The faithful received the opportunity to express their gratitude to Archbishop Derderian for his continued pastoral care, vision, and guidance.
Among the dignitaries in attendance were Mr. Derik Ghookasian, Vice-Chair of the Diocesan Council and Chair of the Stewardship Committee of the Western Diocese. During the service, Archbishop Derderian commended the decades-long selfless service of Sonia Matossian, Parish Council Chair, highlighting her unrelenting dedication to St. Garabed Armenian Church of the Desert.
After the service, the Primate took part in a light brunch organized by the Parish Council. Archbishop Derderian commended the collective efforts of Pastor Deacon-In-Charge Dn. Gevork Gevorkian, the Parish Council, and the auxiliary bodies of the Parish for their loyalty and steadfastness in their ancestral Christian Faith and dedication to carrying out the mission of St. Garabed Armenian Church.
Indeed the parishioners of the St. Garabed Church were highly excited to welcome the Diocesan Primate. On behalf of parishioners of St. Garabed Church, the Primate’s visit will forever remain dear in our grateful hearts.
