Primate’s Thanksgiving Day Message

Beloved faithful,

Thanksgiving Day is a revered American tradition. It is a beautiful holiday that allows us to offer thanks to the Almighty God for the bountiful gifts and blessings bestowed upon us.

Today, unfortunately, Thanksgiving is synonymous with Black Friday where emphasis is placed more not on Giving Thanks to God for the bountiful gifts and blessings but rather on the sales extravaganzas and blowouts on the following day.

We see a common trend where a sacred tradition, namely dinner at the family table is slowly beginning to disappear. It is indeed worrisome when the announcement that the phrase “Dinner is Ready” has to be sent out to family members via text message and a warm family conversation has been replaced by necessity to view the latest TikTok video.

On Thanksgiving Day, we pray that you embrace your family as you offer your gratitude to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Cherish the memories you create at the family dinner table.

May Christ, our Lord, bless and protect you and your loved ones.
